Why we started a center
As many people close to the Mitchell’s know, a few of Cherryl and Richard’s immediate family members have special needs.Through personal experience, the Mitchell’s understand that individuals with special needs, and their families, are most comfortable in a private setting.They also believe personal attention in an enriching environment is some of the keys to a successful therapeutic center. With the help of family and friends, Richer Equine Sanctuary, Ltd. was founded. The development of a therapy center was expedited in the hopes they could help a very special individual who has been an inspiration.Our doors are now open to all who believe in the benefits of therapeutic equestrian experiences.
The Mitchell’s, the help of their daughter Gen, a teacher named Jessica and some other wonderful individuals, will make the center available to all people with special needs. Each case is evaluated on an individual basis, and a therapy plan is worked out.Lessons for friends and family are available upon request, but please know our special clients come first. At this time, Richer Equine Sanctuary, Ltd receives no City, State or Federal funding.As with most not-for-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of the public to support our charitable endeavors.
